Robert Cooper

Chief Executive Officer

Robert Cooper brings over four decades of industry experience to his role as Alterra President and CEO. He has worked on nearly $4 billion of real estate development and have completed more than 40 communities. A graduate of the University of Western Ontario, Robert has earned numerous industry awards for personal and project excellence, including the prestigious Ontario Home Builders Association Lifetime Achievement Award, the youngest ever recipient.

Richard M. Cooper

Executive Vice President

Richard M. Cooper attended the University of Toronto, where he earned a Civil Engineering Degree, and The University of Western Ontario as an Ivey School of Business MBA graduate. With over 40 years of executive business experience in construction engineering, real estate development, and asset management, Richard brings a wealth of knowledge to Alterra.

Stuart R. Wilson

President

A professional quantity surveyor with a Master’s degree in Construction/Project Management, a specialization in budgeting and financial modelling, and over 20 years of international experience, Stuart brings a unique background to the team. Formerly with Altus Group, Stuart has worked on over 500 developments spanning high-rise residential, hotel, institutional, retail, and commercial properties.

Annamalai Muthu

Chief Financial Officer

Malai Muthu brings over 16 years of finance experience to Alterra. Prior to joining, he worked as the Vice President, Finance and Treasury at Temerty Group, a large single-family office. Malai commenced his career at PwC in the Audit and Assurance group, he then worked with Yamana Gold for over 7 years as Director, Accounting and then as Corporate Controller at Allied Properties. He received his Master of Finance degree from Queen’s University and obtained his Chartered Accountant designation.

Sharon Gerwitz

Vice President Finance

After graduating from York University with an Honours Degree in Science, Sharon Gerwitz went on to work with KPMG, obtaining her Chartered Accountant designation. At KPMG, Sharon developed extensive expertise in audit and taxation accounting for the real estate, investment, manufacturing, and retail sectors. Following KPMG, she brought her expert knowledge to Alterra. She has been with the team for over 30 years.

Mary Medunic

Vice President Sales & Marketing

Over the past two decades, in roles in residential development sales, marketing, and client services, Mary Medunic has worked with some of the most recognizable names in the business. She is a member of the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA), Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA), Toronto Real Estate Board (TREB), and the Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO). Mary has a broad knowledge of the industry and takes great pride in her dedication and commitment to Alterra homeowners.

David Nagano

Vice President Construction Administration

Since graduating from Ryerson University, David Nagano has spent the last 25 years in the land development industry, participating as a planner, project manager, and contracts manager. David has overseen the successful completion of a multitude of residential high- and low-rise, office, commercial, and land servicing projects. He plays a strategic role throughout the complete planning and construction management process of every Alterra project.

Matt MacCharles

Vice President Development & Aquisitions

A graduate of Queen’s University, Matt MacCharles began his career at Altus Group, where he was responsible for a wide range of valuation and consulting assignments for residential and commercial developments. Since then, he has worked with major GTA developers in various roles relating to acquisitions and development across the full spectrum of low-, medium-, and high-density residential projects.
