TORONTO — Alterra Group of Companies, a real estate developer in the Greater Toronto Area, will feature new work from local artist Michael Awad at its midrise development in the Bedford neighbourhood of Toronto.
321 Davenport has unveiled new hoarding that is wrapped in never-before-seen photography by Awad titled The Entire City Project: Art Toronto.
Awad’s new work was captured at Canada’s international art fair, Art Toronto.
At 321 Davenport, the complete Art Toronto event is presented through photography in its entirety, states a release, adding Awad has transformed the cultural event into an artwork itself.
Through ribbons of imagery, to be seen contiguously from left to right, the viewer embarks on a walking tour of Art Toronto. The mural functions as both a visual inventory and an artistic interpretation of Canada’s art scene, adds the release.
“As a supporter of Canada’s art and culture communities we are so pleased to be able to provide a platform for Michael Awad’s art,” stated Stuart Wilson, president of Alterra, in a statement. “Alterra buildings have taken part in shaping the city of Toronto’s skyline and we feel a synergy with how Michael has showcased his Entire City Project and the people and places that make up this city.”
